Free To Register – Monday 21st November, 9.30am -11am
Young Assembly provides an exciting opportunity for pupils from Young Chamber schools to have a voice which will influence policy changes in education and the devolution of skills in Greater Manchester.
At the same time, the Young Assembly programme will allow pupils to get direct access to world-class business leaders and an insight into the world of business.
We have limited places available for the Young Chamber Assembly and it is based on a first come, first served basis, due to high demand (25 places in total).
Young Chamber schools will have the chance to identify one or two student representatives to attend up to three Assemblies per academic year. These will be held at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce in Manchester city centre and will give pupils a fantastic opportunity to voice their opinions, ask questions and debate with a range of high-profile guest speakers on a variety of topics.
In addition to this, the Young Chamber Ambassador will receive:
- A Young Chamber Rewards Card, with discounts on a variety of school activities
- An Ambassador Certificate
- A Letter of Recommendation from Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce
- Resource packs, including the information that has been covered in the Assembly, that the Ambassador can take back into school and share with other pupils
The first meeting will take place on Monday 21st November, 9.30am-11am with guest speaker, Chamber President Wayne Jones, who is Chairman of MAN Diesel & Turbo Ltd UK and has been awarded an OBE for supporting young people in training and development. In the Assembly he will be discussing global career opportunities within manufacturing and engineering.
