Don't miss our fourth Economic Review of 2024 kindly sponsored by TransPennine Express.
Join host Chris Fletcher, the Chamber’s Policy and Communications Director, and Head of Research, Subrahmaniam Krishnan-Harihara, to hear first hand about the current state of the Greater Manchester economy and what will be impacting on your business over the next few months. You can also hear about the latest updates on the GM Index - the most accurate economic performance indicator around.
We will update you on the Chamber's key economic indicators and give views on wider issues impacting on the economy to ensure you have your finger on the economic pulse.
Mayor of Greater Manchester
The event will also be an opportunity to hear from Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, who was re-elected for a third term earlier this year.
The Mayor now has a range of new funding and powers via the Trailblazer Devolution Deal, which will change the way decision making and spending is done in Greater Manchester.
We will also be joined by Chris Jackson, Managing Director – TransPennine Express, our sponsors for this event.
Chris joined the railway industry in 2001, working in a number of front-line operational roles before progressing to middle and senior leadership positions in Network Rail, Train Operating Companies and Light Rail. He has experience in project and major flagship station management along with extensive senior operational leadership experience of traincrew, network and electrical control centres. As Regional Director for the Northwest at Northern for 5 years, Chris led a team of over 2400 people responsible for customer experience, safety, traincrew leadership, operational strategy and stakeholder relationships up to the most senior levels. During this time under his leadership, the Region was transformed in terms of new trains introduction, trade union relations, stakeholder engagement, December 23 timetable introduction and customer sentiment.
His most recent role is Managing Director of TransPennine Trains, which commenced in May 2023.
The event will begin at 8.15am for an 8.30pm prompt start - so we ask for all delegates to please arrive no later than 8.30am.
