As part of International Trade Week, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of webinars aimed at highlighting key opportunities around the world for UK businesses.
Our Friday afternoon session will focus on Latin America.
Why Latin America?
Latin America is a growing partner for the UK, with total trade reaching £45.3 billion in the 12 months to September 2023. Representing more than 8% of the global population, the region presents a wealth of opportunities for British businesses. Trade with the region has been growing steadily with UK exports to Latin America increasing by 7% annually over the past 5 years.
This session will have a more specific focus around Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

About our speakers
Diane Trejo is a seasoned professional in international business and trade, with seven years of service industry experience. Currently based in Spain, she has been with Global Strategies & Tools (Global ST) for four years, playing a key role in helping companies from various sectors expand into Latin America. Over the past year alone, Diane has actively supported the global expansion of more than 40 companies and engaged with over 200 industry professionals and organizations.
International commerce has been the driving force behind Ivan Ramirez’ career from the outset. His early fascination with global affairs and business dynamics naturally led him to pursue a Master's degree in International Business, a decision that would shape his professional trajectory for decades to come. During his eight-year tenure at the British Embassy in Mexico, he held senior trade positions where he successfully facilitated business opportunities and research initiatives for dozens of British companies. Today, Ivan channels his business skills and extensive network into two international business consulting firms he founded: Klover9 focusing on Mexico and Latin America and Spark9 focusing on Canada and the USA.
