The University of Salford is proud to be patron of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and support the growth and development of the local economy. As well as training industry-ready students with an entrepreneurial mindset, the University supports SMEs from across the region, the UK and internationally to achieve their strategic aims and grow their business. The University provides fully and partially funded opportunities to help companies to innovate, develop their staff and leaders through training programmes and apprenticeships, and strengthen their workforce by working with our students. For example, one of the latest initiatives Salford has been involved in is the delivery of the Help to Grow Management Programme, where almost 150 SME leaders have successfully developed a high growth plan for their business.

Companies can also test new products and ideas using the university’s world-class facilities and services, aimed primarily at four key sectors: creative and digital, advanced material and manufacturing, built environment and green growth and health innovation. Our brand-new North of England Robotics Innovation Centre (NERIC) and Energy House Labs are just a few of the many examples of these. Finally, Salford Business School provides bespoke support and consultancy for companies operating in the professional services and finance industries.
