A Call to Action: GM Business Issues – What Are Your Priorities?

The Chamber’s Autumn Assembly is taking place on 30th October. A key focus at the event will be identifying issues affecting businesses across the 10 local areas of Greater Manchester, and we need your input and evidence to help us identify and prioritise these issues.

In June this year, before the General Election, we released our Campaign for Business – A Plan for Growth document that updated all our local asks made to the Mayor at May’s election with national level issues – all captured from feedback, discussion and member surveys.

The campaign document had the following 5 themes; Skills, Connectivity, Trade, Net Zero and Business Conditions and the document itself can be accessed here.

Our work on the GM Local Skills Improvement Plan has given us a clear understanding of the local skills challenges businesses face. Now, we want to use some of the same methods to dig deeper on some of the other issues impacting businesses and build up local information and evidence.

To participate, please email Chris Fletcher, the Chamber’s Policy Director at chris.fletcher@gmchamber.co.uk , with a brief outline or description of the issues affecting your business or ideas as well as where your business is based. Use ‘Business Issue’ in the subject line.

Your issue could be related to transport, problems with international trade or the supply chain, increasing costs and regulatory burdens or questions about local plans for growth and development – what should a new industrial strategy have in it to deliver what you need for your business?

While we can’t promise to resolve every issue, we will look at and assess every issue raised and collate these for discussion and action at Assembly.

This is a great way to make sure your voice is heard so please take part.
