For lots of businesses, being unable to find people with the right skills for their business can be one of the main barriers to growth.

Here at the Chamber, we are tackling businesses’ skills issues through our work on the GM Local Skills Improvement Plan – a project we are developing and delivering on behalf of the Department for Education.

One of the key components of the project is understanding which skills businesses are struggling to find and why it’s so difficult to recruit/attract the right candidates. Currently, we’re looking for businesses to take part in one-to-one discussions about their skills and recruitment difficulties so that we can work with colleges and training providers to get the right courses and programmes in place, giving individuals and businesses the opportunity to grow.

If you can spare an hour of your time to tell us how you’re affected by skills issues, we’d love to hear from you. Each discussion will take place on Teams and all the information you provide will remain completely anonymous.

Contact us today and, together, let’s make sure you have the skills your business needs to grow: gmlsip@gmchamber.co.uk
