The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently launched a new electronic legalisation platform eDAS 2.0. This platform is for the digital attestation (legalisation) of the Arab British Certificates of Origin and invoices relating to goods being imported into the UAE.

EDAS 2.0 allows only the registered consignee in the UAE to upload the Arab British Certificates of Origin and invoices.

Companies in the UAE need to register on https://edas.mofa.gov.ae/regnv2/#/

As a result, all Arab British Certificates of Origin and invoices submitted to GM Chamber will now only be processed for Certification by the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, and it is the responsibility of the consignee in the UAE to have these legalised via the new platform.

The processing of other documents such as agreements, packing lists etc. remains unchanged and will continue to be processed as certification and legalisation if required.
