Freeths benchmarked on Stonewall’s list for inclusive employers

Freeths is proud to announce it’s been acknowledged in Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index (WEI) 2024, receiving silver-level accreditation for the first time, as part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I).

Stonewall is Europe’s largest charity for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer (LGBTQ+) rights, and the WEI features businesses that have displayed achievements and progress surrounding LGBTQ+ initiatives throughout the year. Such progress is calculated through a number of rigorous measures, including but not limited to policies and benefits, the employee lifecycle and staff networks.

This accolade demonstrates the extensive progress made by the firm across LGBTQ+ identities, and is a testament to Freeths’ considered, thorough submission.

Commenting on the firm’s accreditation, Senior Partner Philippa Dempster, said: “We are extremely proud to have been recognised by Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index this year. Following the results of Stonewall’s WEI, Freeths’ SHINE Network, comprised of members of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, has bolstered its development. The network now has Employment Partner Kevin Poulter as its Executive Sponsor, as well as Legal Assistant Ornanto Mecaj and Trainee Solicitor Tiegan Patrick as its Co-Chairs.
