Be your greatest! Manchester's best running event will be back bigger & better than ever on Sunday 18 May, with a brilliant city centre 10k and half marathon televised live on the BBC. It's your chance to experience the incredible atmosphere and run alongside some of the world’s best athletes.
Starting on Portland Street, runners will pass some of Manchester’s most iconic landmarks and experience the incredible local support all along the route. Both the 10k and half marathon take in city highlights including Old Trafford, the Imperial War Museum at Salford Quays and The Lowry – meanwhile, half marathon runners make up the miles heading out to the Etihad before the routes combine for a grandstand finish on Deansgate.
Over 99% of runners say they’d recommend this incredible event to a friend and it’s clear to see why. From the rocking music zones to the charity cheering squads, and the amazing people of Manchester lining the streets – the atmosphere and spirit is Manchester through and through. The post event celebrations continue with friends and loved ones in the Après Zone, with plenty of local food and drink venues around to refuel.
A key component of the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is the Business Challenge which brings together teams from businesses across the city and region. It’s become an annual fixture in the calendar of local businesses, with hundreds of runners representing a diverse range of companies each year.
Teams can be any size (minimum of 4) and are all inclusive, with no maximum limits on team size, age or gender. Our easy-to-use Business Challenge dashboard makes managing your team straightforward, with the flexibility to swap runners up until 6 weeks before the event. Team of 15 or more runners can also enjoy 10% off entry!
Winners are picked based on the four fastest collective times, with the winning team at each event receiving a first place Business Challenge plaque to display with pride!
This year’s challenge offers a great opportunity for each individual organisation to encourage a healthy outlook for staff, engage in all-important team building, and focus on charity fundraising for their chosen good cause.
