Empowering Families in Manchester: Home Start HOST's Baby Bank Receives Key Funding Boost to Meet Growing Needs

Home Start HOST is thrilled to announce that it has secured a significant grant of £33,000 The Eric Wright Charitable Trust to support the essential service Cascade Baby Bank, which is more crucial than ever amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The funding will allow Home Start HOST to support the Baby Bank Assistant position, ensuring the smooth operation and expansion of opening times. With the rising costs of food and energy, many families struggle with the costs of baby goods and clothing. The Baby Bank offers essential items like clothing, prams, and nappies to families in need, with demand steadily increasing.

The Baby Bank processes over 100 referrals per month.

Referrals come from Health Visitors, Social Workers, and other professionals.

Families receive essential items for babies and children aged 0-10.

"Our Baby Bank has become a lifeline for many families facing financial hardship," said Sarah Cook, CEO at Home Start HOST. "This funding will enable us to continue providing vital support and meet the growing demands of our community."

Our Baby Bank is always in need of good quality preloved items baby items such as prams, highchairs, and clothing. We also welcome donations of new items such as nappies, and cot mattresses. Donations can be dropped at the Baby Bank, Unit 3B Arrow Trading Estate, Corporation Road, Audenshaw, M34 5LR: Mondays & Tuesdays 8:30am-11:00am and Thursday 1:30pm - 3:00pm or at the Hyde Charity Shop, Unit 2 Clarendon Square, Hyde, SK14 2QT.
