Positive Steps, a charitable trust committed to providing integrated support services for young people, adults, and families, is embarking on transformative projects to enhance their facilities and expand their impact. Your support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in our community.
Current Initiatives:
• New Youth Space at Bury Road, Rochdale
Plans are underway to create a fully equipped hair salon and spaces for DIY, bricklaying, and upcycling. The upcycling initiative allows young people to refurbish furniture, which they can take home or donate to other clients in need—an empowering and engaging experience. Young people receive accredited certificates in all sessions they take part in.
• Wellbeing Room
A dedicated, calming environment to help young people relax, recharge, and focus on their personal growth.
• Sector Visits
Employers are invited to host up to 15 young people, offering tours, presentations, Q&A sessions, and interactive activities that provide valuable industry insights and inspiration.
• Work Experience Opportunities
One-week placements for students from local schools to gain hands-on experience in various industries. Working with schools in Oldham, Tameside, Rochdale, and Manchester.
How You Can Help:
• Financial Contributions
• Funding to create a hair salon for the young people to learn skills and gain certificates.
• Funding for new facilities, such as DIY, Bricklaying and Upcycling.
• Funding to create a calming wellbeing room for all YP to use or donations of furniture to enhance the space.
• Sponsoring AQA certification registrations for the YP. These certifications significantly enhance their skills and prospects.
• Resource Donations
Provide tools, materials, and equipment for the hair salon, DIY, bricklaying, and upcycling spaces.
• Host Sector Visits
Share your industry knowledge and inspire young people by hosting visits and activities.
• Offer Work Experience Placements
Provide students with practical learning opportunities in a real-world environment.
