Kinaxia Logistics has unveiled a new nationwide on-demand warehousing service to provide customers with an agile and scalable way to efficiently store and dispatch goods for seasonal promotions and volume peaks.

The initiative is aimed at retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and importers which require a flexible option for building stock, handling seasonal and promotional volumes, or have last-minute storage needs to maintain customer service levels and prevent disruption to their supply chain.

The new service is covered by Kinaxia’s entire network of strategic warehousing bases, comprising 2.7m sq ft of storage facilities across locations including Trafford Park in Greater Manchester, DIRFT in Daventry and Doxford Park in Sunderland and Snetterton in East Anglia.

The company said current market conditions mean customers are looking for greater agility to scale up and down without the constraint of long-term contracts and complicated onboarding procedures.

Chief executive Michael Conroy said: “We have seen that there is customer demand in the UK market for an agile national operator to quickly provide warehousing and storage space for items including beverages, consumer goods and products with seasonal volume variations, as well as for importers who need greater flexibility.

“We have a nationwide network of wet and dry bonded, secure facilities which are accredited by the British Retail Consortium and offer some of the highest quality warehousing in the UK.

“Our warehouse management systems provide real-time inventory visibility across all of our locations, integrating seamlessly with customers’ in-house systems and with the ability to call off orders at SKU or pallet level.

“Combined with our sector-leading e-commerce, fulfilment and nationwide distribution, our new on-demand warehousing service strengthens our offering of a powerful, efficient and sustainable solution for dispatch and final mile B2B and B2C delivery.”

Kinaxia employs 1,600 staff nationwide and operates a fleet of 800 vehicles transporting goods for the retail, leisure, food and drink and manufacturing sectors. Its national network of hubs provides a full source-to-shelf logistics service.

Michael added: “Our strategy for this year is about getting closer to our customers and working collaboratively to deliver solutions which match their individual needs. The launch of on-demand warehousing is in response to customer feedback and demonstrates our ability to quickly flex to their requirements.

“It has been well-received by customers, who appreciate our agility as they seek to streamline their supply and distribution chains and maintain excellent customer service levels.”
