Compassion in Action - Charity Business of the Year

Founded in 2006 from humble roots in St Mary’s Church Hall, Lowton, Compassion in Action continues to meet the needs of people in crisis – providing furniture, clothes, accommodation, skills training, education and advocacy.

In 2014, the charity was the proud recipient of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is an MBE for volunteer groups.

Working with valued partners across the borough, Compassion in Action creates community solutions for the community – taking a whole person approach to service provision and giving hope to the most vulnerable in our society.

The judges said: "Judging Charity Business of the Year is a tough category to judge as all the entries are for a great cause which is helping our region. We landed on Compassion In Action based on their outstanding activity over the past year and the visible growth they've made."
